Hi, and thank you for checking out Death by Pastry. We'd like to take some time to introduce you to the pastry chef responsible for the world-class baking creations available for you to experience.
Pastry Chef Kristina Conger graduated summa cum laude from Johnson and Wales University Charlotte. Training with Peter internatip ad the Ecole Nationate Super hursde patisearned an school of pastry in Yssingeaux, France, and received a certificate of excellence while there. That gave her the skill set and confidence to enter the IBA Cup as the only female competitor out of twenty-four chefs.
Those accomplishments allowed Kristina to begin her career as pastry chef for the Four Diamond French restaurant Zebra in Charlotte, North Carolina. Wanting to pursue her passion for bread, she simultaneously worked with Duke's Bread company to develop new products. The news of her first niece made her want to move back to Michigan. Wanting to challenge her knowledge of flavors and pairings, she took a chance alongside chef James Rigato by creating a pastry program with an ever-changing menu. Little did they know Mabel Gray would become an award-winning and recognized restaurant. At the beginning of 2020, she had health complications and, by late October, decided to step away from the kitchen to get healthy. Two years later, with her health under control, she wanted to get back into the kitchen and bring her creative ideas to life. Thus, Death by Pastry was born.
